Title: Telephone Enquiries Clerk (Friendly Calls Program)

Location: Canada - Burnaby, BC (remote)

Employment status: Temporary Full Time 2 months

Salary : 19.23 $ /hour

The incumbent will, collaborating with the Friendly Calls Program Coordinator, to support the Friendly Calls Program within the Community Health Team.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide administrative and client-centred support to the Friendly Calls program
  • Assist with increasing awareness of Red Cross programs
  • Gather and records information, and produces reports as needed
  • Support Friendly Calls volunteer team and tasks related to the Friendly Calls program
  • Update and maintains contact information and other data bases as required
  • Support volunteer onboarding and systems in place for volunteer engagement
  • Assesse, monitors and evaluates needs and activities, follows up when required and contributes to processes documenting recommendations and lessons learned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the effectiveness of the Program

What we are looking for:

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills in English, including handling interactions with clients and colleagues required as well as telephone and email etiquette skills
  • Professionalism and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team and build positive internal and external relationships
  • Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office are required
  • Flexibility, professionalism, independence
  • Quick learner and ability to problem solve

Working conditions:

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) Program so applicants must meet the eligibility criteria as outlined by the CSJ program.

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • Work is performed in an office environment as part of a virtual team however, during COVID-19 operations, work is performed at home
  • This position also requires a satisfactory Canadian criminal record and reference check
  • A satisfactory Enhanced Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory for this position and operation (the CRC will however adhere to its duty to accommodate those who are unable to be fully vaccinated for a reason related to a human right protected ground)
