The Finance Department at the City of Portage has an opportunity for an Accounts Payable Accounting Specialist to join their team. This individual must be reliable, precise, and professional as they will handle the financial processing of transactions for the city, analyze expenditures, assign payments to proper cost centers and work with vendors to resolve issues.
An Associate degree in Accounting and five years of related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A Bachelor degree in accounting is preferred. Knowledge of local, state and federal laws related to public finance administration is also preferred.
Income is commensurate with experience, ranging from $39,000- $47,000, and offers an excellent benefits package.
