JOB DESCRIPTION – PAYROLL OFFICER
This is a technical administrative support position with primary responsibility for the preparation of the District’s payroll and related functions. This position requires personal initiative and attention to detail in working with financial records.
Education & Experience:
Associates degree in accounting or business and a minimum of three (3) years documented experience working with computerized payroll accounting systems, or a minimum of five (5) years documented experience working with computerized payroll accounting systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
This position requires the ability to maintain a high degree of organizational planning and general business skills. He/she must demonstrate initiative, knowledge, and judgment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook is required. The ability to receive a passing score on a Payroll and Accounting skills assessment is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook is required. Knowledge of computerized payroll accounting systems is required. Must have the ability to learn new software products required to perform job functions. Knowledge and the ability to assemble and organize data/information, maintain complex files and records, work independently, and assess various situations and make the appropriate decisions. This position requires the ability to work independently.
This position requires the ability to communicate payroll functions and the status of individual accounts to employees of all levels within the organization.
This position requires the ability to complete detailed computerized payroll operations within specific time frames.
