IT Technical Specialist is part of the IT project management team. On a day-to-day basis this person will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of coding; validating, correcting and entering inventory and recipe related data into the various inventory and accounting systems. This position reports to the IT Project Manager and is located at the SSP Support Center in Ashburn, VA


  • Prepares and sorts source documents, and identifies and interprets Lynx (Cash and Invoicing system) Master data and Crunchtime/ MyInventory (inventory system) to be entered
  • Keeps track of received invoice data and source documents
  • Tracks and troubleshoots various technical issues between accounting and inventory systems and escalates to software owners as needed
  • Contacts preparers of Lynx source documents to resolve questions or inconsistencies
  • Validates data for Lynx Master and Crunchtime / MyInventory data such as item descriptions, quantities and units of measure
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot various interfaces, accounting systems, cash management system, and inventory systems
  • Communicate with site staff and managers, corporate staff and management, IT colleagues and UK IT team
  • Main Liaison between accounting department and IT department
  • Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer following format displayed on screen and enters necessary code
  • Reviews and makes necessary corrections to information entered to the Lynx Master
  • Proactively monitors and maintains accounting systems consistency
  • Participates in special projects as needed
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned

  • Post secondary education in IT-related discipline desired
  • 1+ years of restaurant Inventory experience desired
  • Restaurant procurement operational experience, or restaurant finance experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of IT systems
  • Knowledge of MyMicros, MyInventory, Lynx BM and Crunchtime is an advantage
  • Ability to operate various work-processing software, spreadsheets, and database programs
  • Site systems support, direct and coordinate with escalation
  • Software testing experience
  • Training experience and skills
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • Effective task management for different customers with ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task with problem solving skills, strong attention to detail and analytical ability
  • Follow instructions furnished in verbal or written format
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office, particularly Excel
  • Minimal to no travel
