Performs advanced clerical and administrative office support-related activities and advanced complex data quality control work. Coordinates activities for one or more projects and specialized programs. Work involves some confidential correspondence and communications. Work requires contact with middle and high-level managers and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.


The essential duties for this job include:

  • Attends meetings and prepares official reports/minutes.
  • Composes and prepares correspondence and applicable recurring or special one-time reports requiring an understanding of technical matters and/or confidential and sensitive communications.
  • Coordinates activities, tracks the progress of projects and/or specialized programs and informs supervisor or other Department officials of status.
  • Independently handles a wide variety of situations that often cannot be brought to the immediate attention of a supervisor.
  • Performs technical writing as required in addition to proofreading duties.
  • Provides administrative support in an office and maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of supervisors and staff.
  • Provides assistance to the public.
  • Reviews correspondence and reports drafted by others.
  • Schedules meetings, appointments and makes travel arrangements.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

  • The responsibilities associated with secretarial and office procedures to include the use of proper business telephone etiquette, internal communication strategies and use of basic office equipment
  • The use of personal computers and applicable programs, applications and systems
  • Maintaining a safe working relationship


This job requires the following:

  • High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies

Work Experience

This job requires the following:

  • 5 years in Clerical, Secretarial, Admin Support -related activities
  • (Experience can be satisfied by full-time or prorated part-time equivalent)
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • College education and /or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on year per year basis.

Licenses and Certifications

The following Licenses and/or Certifications are required for this job:

  • * Safety Impact Certificate
  • Valid Driver's License - At time of application
