WHAT: Open Auditions
FOR: Exclusive Team Member Position
WHERE: The Wild Animal Sanctuary – Keenesburg, CO
The Wild Animal Sanctuary is a place where motivated change makers can immerse themselves into a dedicated community, working side by side to provide a safe-haven for rescued animals to live out rest of their lives with dignity and respect. We are so much more than a workplace. We are a team committed to service, to bettering our communities, and the world. We are always seeking new opportunities and developing solutions that allow us to maintain the highest level of care for the animals we rescue, as well as educate the public about the plight of captive born and bred animals worldwide. As the oldest and largest non-profit carnivore Sanctuary in the world, our visionary approach is simple: EVERYTHING we do is for the animals.
This isn’t the Peace Corps… and we’re not the Marines… but if you combined the two concepts, and applied them toward helping animals through hard work, personal sacrifice and steadfast dedication, then you would know what we are all about. If being able to make a real and tangible difference in this world fuels your spirit - as does giving to others for the right reasons - then you are not alone. Our team members openly and gladly devote their lives to a singular cause that is hands-on, challenging, innovative, taxing and pushes limits. They are the best of the best!
The Wild Animal Sanctuary has endless opportunities where our team members continue to develop personal and professional skills while growing their knowledge base through hands-on and peer-to-peer training. If you are unsure about fitting in, don’t worry, since we can match base skill sets to needs within our organization and then provide the resources and training for you to become a competent, well-rounded, and highly-valued team member.
Committed and highly contributing team members receive compensation ranging from $40,000 to $85,000/year - with some seasonal opportunities for students and others with limited schedules. Politics and selfish behavior are not allowed, and we do not sweat titles or positions. Saving and caring for animals, as well as educating people, is our overall mission so each team member is happy to work wherever they are needed most.
Team members perform functions in the following areas:
Specifically, we are looking for people that possess the following qualities:
As you can see, we are looking for people who possess strong foundational skills with an attitude to succeed. It’s incredibly important for each auditioner to know in their heart they are truly ready to become part of something bigger than themselves and actually possess all of the core ingredients required.
Before auditioning to become a compensated Team Member, we strongly encourage you to read our website and consider becoming a Sanctuary Volunteer. The Wild Animal Sanctuary is not a zoo, and we purposely do not have a large number of paid staff. The majority of our compensated Team Members come from the Sanctuary’s volunteer pool, since this helps us identify each candidate’s potential while clarifying their level of passion and commitment to our cause.
If you looking for a challenging and rewarding service opportunity with real purpose you are special and we want to meet you! Where else can you dedicate yourself to a noble cause and continue to afford paying your living expenses?
