Senior Technical Product Manager, Dynamic Infrastructure

As a strong Senior Technical Product Manager, you will work closely with talented engineers, subject matter experts, and product managers from across the company to define, build, and maintain systems that are used by millions of consumers around the world every day.
Specifically, you will lead a cross-functional team of engineers and analysts to define data contracts between Employer's merchandising and storefront systems, and assist in building the data storage and ETL systems that execute upon these contracts in real-time. You must be able to deeply understand the strategic goals of our partners throughout the company, the technical details of the systems they currently maintain, and how to make appropriate trade-offs between the two. You must be able to clearly communicate about your design decisions to rally diverse stakeholders around a common vision.
You must have a strong bias-for-action, be extremely curious and be willing to identify and fill gaps where necessary to get the job done. You will be asked to break down complex and sometimes poorly defined problems and back up your recommendations with quantitative and qualitative reasoning.

Responsibilities:
  • Be the expert on how data flows from suppliers to storefront - know exactly where our product data comes from, where it goes, and why.
  • Deeply understand the needs of stakeholders within Merchandising Systems, Data Science, and the rest of the Storefront organization to ensure that the systems you build satisfy their strategic goals at scale.
  • Work closely with a team of engineers and analysts to define and execute a roadmap for best-in-class data management systems.
  • Effectively communicate design goals and project plans throughout the company to ensure that changes are adopted in a timely fashion and new capabilities are fully taken advantage of.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience in customer-focused, analytically-rigorous, high-performance settings. Preference for candidates with experience in e-commerce, though this is not required.
  • 3+ years' experience successfully leading high-impact engineering teams or in a product management role with a heavy technical leadership component.
  • Passionate about building high-performance data systems at scale.
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience with hypothesis-driven learning and turning data into actionable insights.
  • Deep understanding of business strategy and metrics.
  • Superior communication skills with demonstrated ability to navigate a complex organization and generate buy-in for ideas and plans.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership experience.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for action and ability to deal with ambiguity and rapidly changing environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in either a technology or business discipline preferred.
