About the role of Collections Officer

Our client is a leading Loan Servicing Business and currently have exciting opportunities for Collections Officers to join the arrears and litigation team, working with mortgage borrowers experiencing financial difficulty. Your main responsibility will be to deliver work out solutions to customers experiencing payment difficulties and to manage the delivery of the litigation process via liaison with the appointed solicitor. You will liaise daily with customers to gather information, identify suitable payment plans and other work out options and deliver successful workout solutions to customers. You will regularly interact with solicitors, courts, and bailiffs to ensure the litigation process is proceeding satisfactorily.

Responsibilities and experience required for the role of Collections Officer

• Regularly communicate with customers who are experiencing payment difficulties
• Discussing and negotiating arrears work out options e.g., arrangements, capitalisation, loan work outs, shortfall sales etc
• Monitor agreed workout strategies to ensure they are complied with and taking further action in accordance with the special servicing manual
• Create and submit referrals to line managers for all requests outside of own mandate

Experience required for the position of Collections Officer

• Experience gained in collections, litigation, arrears, ideally with a regulated mortgage lending business however we can consider transferable skills
• Great problem-solving skills
• Superb customer care skills
