Operations Executive (Office Based)
Our Freight Forwarding client is a privately owned International Freight Forwarder, who operate as part of a global logistics network of independent agents moving cargo predominantly to and from China and the USA. They provide tailored logistics solutions to a wide range of customers both in the UK and Overseas - all modes.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience handling international shipping (air & sea) and customs formalities in a UK freight forwarding environment, possessing strong organisational time management skills. You should have a pro-active and dynamic approach to your work and be willing to take on responsibility.
General Operational Duties
- Maintain day to day operational workload.
- Prepare, handle, and process documentation including reference shipment, progress order, arrange pick up/delivery, select and book carrier, negotiate rate & schedule, consolidate, update client.
- Liaise with carriers, partner agents & other parties to ensure information is up to date & correct.
- Quote existing customers and partner agents on sea and air consignments.
- Accurate and timely client billing
- Complete UK customs entry using e-Customs software.
Customer Services
- Communicate effectively with Customers, partner agents and Suppliers
- Looking after customer service and account management for key customers including visits when required.
- Updating our customers regarding shipment status
- Create and Maintain Customer SOPs aimed at providing an excellent customer service experience.
- Close attention and support for new customers
- Collating sales information on prospective customers to be passed onto Sales department.
- Daily collaboration with Sales department
- Answering of phone calls in a polite and efficient manner
