Assistant Site Manager
Position: Assistant Site ManagerReporting to: Site Manager
Responsibilities and Duties:1. Site Management:
- Collaborate daily with the Site Manager to address site management issues related to the school’s fabric and grounds.
- Oversee the security of the school premises, ensuring a safe environment for work and teaching.
- Assist in maintaining machinery and plant equipment within the school.
2. Communication and Deputizing:
- Handle inquiries from staff, pupils, parents, and the public.
- Act as a deputy for the Site Manager during their absence.
3. Sports Facilities:
- Liaise with the Head of Physical Education to assess the fitness for purpose of the school’s sporting facilities.
4. Additional Duties:
- Adapt to changing requirements and circumstances by carrying out other duties consistent with the grade.
- Ensure adequate cover during own or team members’ absence.
- Take responsibility for hand tools, equipment (e.g., lawnmowers), and other small machinery.
5. Security:
- Open and close the school premises, including gates, windows, doors, and fire escapes.
- Report any alarm or fire system failures to the maintenance company.
- Ensure fire equipment, emergency exits, and entrances are unobstructed.
- Verify the proper operation of alarms.
- Coordinate with emergency services as needed.
- Report acts of vandalism to the Site Manager and Police.
6. General Site Supervision:
- Prevent trespassing and unauthorized parking.
- Promote safe use of the school premises.
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in site management or related field.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing circumstances.
